Project: Rebrand Postmark, Online Invitation Service Website
Client: Evite
Service Provided: Competitive Review, Branding, Web Design, and Miscellaneous Content Development
Evite, known for its online digital invitation and event planning service, launched Postmark to capture a more upscale market captured by competitor PaperlessPost. Evite had asked Marc Friedland to create a collection of invitations to be featured on this new Postmark concept. Before uploading his own collection, Marc wanted everything to be overhauled. Evite then asked Marc to make the changes he wanted and direct the look of the site including all the product in it.
Marc contracted me to spearhead the rebranding of the site. Like most branding projects, it started with the logo. Due to the fact that the logo in this case rarely appears outside the context of the site, I created a collection of web page designs in order to demonstrate the many logo options in what might be their natural environments.
Of the many logos created, the design shown here was the chosen one. This logo was designed to use color as a branding element. The logo would feature changes in palette to reflect the changing seasonal nature of the business as well as to have a kind of stylistic exuberance. The red palette version shown was the first version to appear in the initial relaunch of the site.
