Orbit City was Turner Broadcasting’s licensing and merchandising creative division based in LA at Hanna-Barbara Studios. Orbit City’s name and theme was based on the Jetson’s home town. The department was its own separate profit center with its own identity and wanted that to be reflected in it’s communications inside and outside the company.
Shown here is logo, and business cards where employees were able to select a character that best suited their personality from the myriad characters in the Hanna-Barbara library. Also shown is the letterhead that folded into a paper plane. The project was scrapped due to Turner’s merger with TimeWarner.
